Charleston Firefighters Local 61 is proud to represent nearly 300 members—and growing—making us the largest IAFF local in South Carolina. Comprised of firefighters through the rank of captain, we are all dedicated members of the Charleston Fire Department.
Our mission is simple yet vital: to enhance the lives of our current and future members, ensuring they have the support, resources, and advocacy needed for long, healthy, and dignified careers. We come from all walks of life—some beginning their journey fresh in the fire service, others bringing years of experience from departments across the country—but we stand united as one brotherhood and sisterhood.
Together, we are committed to protecting not only our community but also each other. From the firehouse to City Hall, Local 61 will continue to advocate for what is right and fight for the well-being and future of every Charleston firefighter.
